In Ethiopia, over 40% of women were either married or in a union before the age of 18. Girls are often given as Child Brides because their families can`t afford to support them or send them to school. But we believe that every girl deserves a chance to receive a quality education. Your support is helping vulnerable families and keeping girls in school!
Huge thank you to New Hope Church in Bend for this awesome project with their youth. About 40 children came together to write letters, create friendship bracelets and learn more about the orphans PATH serves. It was a really cool way to connect children in the US with our kids in Uganda and Ethiopia!
We take lunch time seriously (and not so seriously) when our Ethiopian community-based kids come to the PATH center every Saturday for tutoring, mentorship, and lunch!
Did you know, food in Ethiopia is frequently eaten with Injera, a teff (grain)-based bread used to wrap the food and carry it to the eater’s mouth. Our kids wash their hands before every meal so they can enjoy their food with God’s natural utensils!

Based on UNICEF data, nearly 90% of African children do not meet the criterion for a minimum appropriate diet and over half of African children do not eat at the recommended frequency.
At PATH, one of the first things we address in a child`s life is nutrition and clean water. Your monthly support as a child sponsor or with the Hope Collective makes this possible! Learn more: https://pathinternational.co/get-involved/
One of the skills taught to Otino Waa`s secondary students is catering and baking. We also teach bee keeping, carpentry, tailoring and more. This baking class was a favorite for most of the students! These cookies and biscuits are some of our best sellers at the Otino Waa Tower Cafe.
