Julius Peter’s Story

by | May 15, 2023

From the very beginning, Julius Peter has had a difficult life. His mother is mentally ill, and sadly, she was raped, resulting in Julius Peter. The neighbors told our social workers that his mother delivered him in the bush and people heard a baby crying and found them. His grandparents were informed, and they went to get him. His elderly grandparents have been taking care of both Julius and his mother.

Julius shared that he faced a lot of stigmas among the village boys and he struggled to be accepted. His impoverished grandparents could not meet the most basic of needs, and their efforts were consumed by finding enough food to eat each day. They were barely surviving.

Julius Peter came to Otino Waa at the beginning of 2023 and now he has so much hope for a better future. He is a jolly boy who smiles all the time. At first, he kept to himself, and was very reserved. He still likes to be alone during his free time, but he can be found on the swings when there are not many people around.

Healing will take time, but we know that God can do wonderful things and will be faithful to Julius Peter.
